School of Mechanical Engineering holds meeting on revision of undergraduate programs

At 11 am on March 1, 2019, the undergraduate programs (2019) revision meeting was held in the 2214 conference room of the mechanical hall. Deputy Dean Tian Huaiwen and director of the teaching and research departments attended the meeting.

Deputy Dean Tian introduced the reasons and objectives of the revision meeting, and proposed six principles: 1) to meet the requirements of the new standard of engineering education; 2) to meet the needs of the era of technological development and industrial innovation, and to integrate the concept of "new engineering"; 3) to highlight professional characteristics, to ensure that it is comparable to domestic ones, to summarize the historical precipitation and advantages of each disciplines; 4) refine the professional talent training ability, to build talent training programs from knowledge, ability, and quality; 5) to create core courses for foundations, to clean up overlapping contents, to integrate theory and practice, and to realize the reorganization and optimization of the curriculum; 6) to effectively remove outdated contents, to explore new teaching models, to guide students to take the initiative to learn.

Each member from all departments discussed the revision plan based on the program given by the school and university. This meeting finally proposed to construct a new model of professional talent training.
